The center is active in three networks in the  Europe zone: Nursing & Midwifery; Human Resources for Health (Excl. Nursing); Health Systems Research & Development. The Center has been funded by FWO through an International Coordination Action (IC-A) from 01.01.2022 to 31.12.2025.

The main activities of the ICA are to:

1. Strengthening nursing and midwifery education in the European Region.
2. Translating research on the health workforce into policy development and implementation.
   1. To gather, integrate, and analyze available databases (e.g., OECD, Eurostat, WHO NHWA) on the deployment of healthcare professionals and to identify quantitative and qualitative shortages, recruitment, and retention rates, etc.
   2. To coordinate the development of new knowledge and evidence by synthesizing available research and best practices, as well as assessing their impact on job and patient outcomes.
   3. To provide a platform for sharing the available evidence via the website and organizing webinars, policy briefs, and policy dialogues.
